Something is broken. You probably already know that.
If you've ever been through the mental health system, the housing system, the justice system, or any of the services that are supposed to help, you may have noticed something. You're asked to tell your story over and over. You're given a label. You're managed. And the things you actually know (about what helps, what hurts, what's missing, what needs to change) rarely seem to make it into the room where decisions get made.
You're not imagining it. And you're not alone.
Why we exist
We exist for those of us who dwell in the gaps our systems choose to ignore. We meet people where they're at, and walk alongside them, not ahead and not above. We don't just want to talk about a different way. We intend to show it.
the Living Collective aims to be… the Change We Want to See
How it feels to be here
Pure acceptance
You're welcome as you are, without being judged, fixed or rushed.
Socio-spiritual
We care about the whole of you: your connections, your community, and what gives your life meaning.
What we offer
[DRAFT, please rewrite] Peer-led support from people who've been there, for anyone living in the gaps our systems ignore. You come as you are, and how you connect is always your choice.
Lived and living experience
Lived experience
What you've been through.
Living experience
What you're navigating right now.
Lived expertise
What you come to understand through both.
All three matter. All three count.
None of these sits above another. We move between all three as we traverse our life's journey.
